This fellowship is primarily aimed at clients of Stop Smoking Right Now, but is also available for anyone who has ever tried to give up smoking, and anyone that is encouraging a smoker to quit
Welcome to the Fellowship of Ex-Smokers and Their Friends
If you've ever been a smoker, you will know what it's like.
- to have to smoke whether you wanted to or not
- to have to make sure that you had cigarettes in the house
- to have to go out at dead of night because you hadn't got any cigarettes left.
You'll know what it's like to hate the thing that you're doing.
You'll know what it's like to be desperate to quit, but not be able to stop for more than a few hours at a time. You'll know what it's like to try to quit smoking time and again.
- How come you had to smoke a cigarette every 20 minutes during the day, and yet you could sleep for 7 hours at night?
- How come, when you were on a long-haul flight, you didn't get withdrawal symptoms, and yet you HAD to have a cigarette the minute it was possible to light up?
Here on this web site you will find a unique atmosphere where we strive to offer ongoing friendly support to those who have already stopped smoking, and information, understanding, friendship and support for those who are thinking of quitting... and hopefully share more than a few laughs along the way.
The Forum
The main feature of this web site is our support forum where ex-smokers, smokers and non-smokers can come together and talk about whatever smoking issue they desire.
Use of the forum is governed by the rules. Primarily the purpose of the forum is to support people that have smoked or people that want to stop smoking - we do not discuss the rights and wrongs of smoking, and neither do we harass people or criticise behaviour.
The atmosphere of our forum is unique, in that it is aimed primarily at people that have stopped smoking or are in the process of stopping with Stop Smoking Right Now. Having said that,we also welcome anyone with an interest in stopping smoking and staying stopped.
If you are thinking of stopping smoking for the first time, or have been unsuccesful with other methods, please don't be shy about stopping by and asking questions - we've all been there and know what it's like.
